Academic Resources for Simics
There are several research frameworks and courses already existing using
Simics. These make it possible for new Simics users to get started quickly
with productive work, and we recommend that you peruse this list of resources
when you start using Simics.
Computer architecture research frameworks
- The University of Wisconsin at Madison has developed the Multifacet GEMS (Generic Execution-driven Multiprocessor Simulator), see http://www.cs.wisc.edu/gems/.
- Carnegie-Mellon University has developed SimFlex, see http://www.ece.cmu.edu/~simflex/.
- The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the University of Pennsylvania have developed FeS2, a Full-system Execution-driven Simulator for x86, see http://fes2.cs.uiuc.edu/index.html.
Courses using Simics
- Carnegie-Mellon University is using Simics in its 410 Operating Systems
course, see http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~410/projects.html - Uppsala University is doing a yearly operating-system student project
using Simics, see http://www.it.uu.se/edu/course/homepage/datsystDV/ht07/project
